This is Our Job

There are times when we complain about the imperfections of our country then we realize we have so much to do to help our countrymen. Some of us may realize that our government and other influential people need us in order to lead this country forward. If you are a person who consistently observes our surroundings for improvement, you may relate to this article instantly. If you are a person who is contented with what we have, you might get something here as to how you can be a great contribution. You may discover your hidden passion and strengths. If I got your attention up to this point, I hope you would love the rest of the thoughts I am about to share to you here.

I was going to Trinoma and I commuted through jeepney. Then I have to climb an overpass. It was clogged since there were a lot of vendors. I’m in a hurry and I got a bit irritated. Then I realized there are a lot more to be done to make huge improvements for our country. My irritability to the vendors was changed into compassion. What am I doing to uplift them? They are selling in the sidewalks for it’s the only thing they know. I know more. I should’ve done something for them to have better lives.

Who am I to help people I don’t know? Naturally, great leaders extend contribution outside their family and relatives. To name a few: Jose Rizal, Gandhi, Mother Teresa, Bill Gates, etc. Am I a great leader?

The reason why I want to help people is the same reason that Donald Trump and Robert Kiyosaki said in their book WHY WE WANT YOU TO BE RICH. I accepted to be rich because I want to be part of the solution and not part of the problem. I no longer see myself a contribution if I stay as an employee. Not that employment is bad. It’s just I’m not called for it.

The same with not everyone is into entrepreneurship, not everyone will be successful in employment career. I was an ordinary employee. And I’m not comfortable of being ordinary. If I have a big chance to be CEO, I could’ve stayed in employment. I was far from even being a supervisor. I also no longer want to educate myself for advancement in employment for I am more fascinated in educating myself how to succeed in business. At the same time, I got more access to it today. I felt being an ordinary employee I can only help a few. To be CEO, I might help more. Since I have slim chances there, I choose business instead. Why fight a losing battle as they say.

Business is not easy. But it’s more flexible for me. I feel constrained in employment. I can’t choose to unleash my full potential. In my case, I’ve always believed that I am a great leader. Being an operator in an engineering department I didn’t see myself how I can really be a great leader. It was hard to grow as a person. I wanted to grow.

In business, on the other hand, I can be limitless. As I learn business systems I can create just any business that I want and create profit from it. At the same time I add value or improve more lives as to what business I start. As I learn leadership, I get to understand different kinds of people. I get to lead and show them well how they can achieve what they want and how they want to do it. One of the things I appreciate the most in business is the relationships I have built. I’m not saying that my relationship in employment were bad. It’s just sharing difficulties and sharing trust to each other to achieve a common goal created deeper friendship. It’s like having a huge family of trust. When I was an employee, there were little difficulties. It was difficult when you get memos but most of the time, your colleagues are not accountable to you. You just have to do your duties right and your OK. In business, you are very accountable to the success of your business for you and your partners as well.

If you cannot relate to what I am saying, it’s perfectly normal. I would strongly advise that you stay in employment and plan your future well if you do not see what I’m seeing. Just like a basketball player cannot unleash his potential in the dance floor if he doesn’t know the world of dancing. If you are perfectly clear in your future in employment, please, stay there. If ever you want to shift into business, I advise you read books or you can also start reading my blogs. You can also do part-time business while you still have your job. You can also set an appointment with me if you want a little preview of true to life experience in business. But I prefer you have read Rich Dad Poor Dad from cover to cover before you meet me. I don’t want to waste your time as much I do with mine.

The question is not whether to go into business or pursue employment promotion. The question is how can you contribute to uplift your countrymen? Uplifting our countrymen is not a responsibility. It’s a choice.

This is the job of those who want to be great leaders. With this endeavor, t is really hard to find leaders. But I cannot give it up. My heart bleeds when I see vendors, beggars, street children and helpless aged. They say I should not pity them. I don’t. What pains me is we do not have the environment yet that can give them a better chance of living a decent or even a dignified life.

If you are still reading up to this point, I would love to meet you in person. What kept you reading this article? Do send message to me here: 0917.6149.879. Is it because you also want to be a great leader? Do you also want to be part of the solution? Is it that I write well? Or you find it funny? Whatever it is I would love to hear it!

If somehow I have disturbed your usual thoughts, do bare with me. I’m just desperate to meet people who really care for others. I feel that if I can find more people in this endeavor, the results would really hasten.

An American President said, “It’s not what your country can do for you. It’s what you can do for your country.” I leave you this question: what can you do for your country? And when are you going to take action?

Cheers!
